Tangled (Tangled #1)
by Emma Chase

Blurb:

Drew Evans is a winner. Handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. He has loyal friends and an indulgent family. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed?
He’ll tell you he has the flu.
But we all know that’s not really true.
Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. She refuses to let anything - or anyone - derail her path to success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.
Then, just when Drew is on the cusp of having everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all. Will he be able untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and fulfillment? Will he rise to the most important challenge of his life?
Can Drew Evans win at love?
Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

Deea's thoughts:

What an awesome read! Loved, loved, LOVED every second of it! I think it's safe to say that it's one of my favorite reads of the year so far. The writing? Freaking brilliant! Fun, but very interesting and unique and thorough and so damn addictive! The all guy's POV was so realistic and spot on! It flowed naturally and it was so easy to picture everything, I felt like I watched a movie with very well done and detailed scenes. I buddy-read it with a few friends and we were all smiling, but mourning the lack of a Drew in our lives this morning. :P

Aimi's thoughts:

This is one of my favourite books of the year. It's hard to find books nowadays that can leave an imprint in your heart, makes you giggle whenever you reminiscing the scenes from the book. I gave it five stars because a book that can leave me laughing like a crazy banshee deserves every bit of attention it needs.  It's not just good. It's simply awesome. Most of my books I read are all from the heroine's POV. I'm not good with a male narrator. Colour me bias but I prefer pretending to be a heroine rather than someone with a dick but Drew's POV... let's just say, he's an incredible guy. He makes me laugh. I love how Ms. Chase portrays the works of the mind of the male species. It's an eye opener. Take these quotes for example:

“Newsflash, ladies: We can’t read your thoughts. And frankly, I’m not entirely sure I’d want to. The female mind is a scary place to be.”

“It’s simple guy logic: If a woman is angry? It means she cares. If you’re in a relationship and a chick can’t even be bothered to yell at you? You’re screwed. Indifference is a woman’s kiss of death. It’s the equivalent of a man not interested in sex. In either case—it’s over. You’re done.”

“Edward Cullen can take his stupid heroine and OD on it. Kate is my own personal brand of Viagra.

“He moved his trunk-like manhood toward the weeping petals of her womanly center.'

Who the f*ck talks like that?!”

Drew is awesome. Word. In fact, we should use Tangled as our holy bible of understanding the inner works of men.
